I have a chance to buy a Canon AutoZoom 518 for $100, in very good condition. Does anyone know anything about this camera that would help me make a decision, or does anyone know of good websites to find this out? Thanks all.

    HI!
I have a Canon 518 Auto Zoom and it is a very nice camera. Shoots in slow-mo and single frame.
You can even get telephoto and wide angle attatchments for it.
BUT, I personally would not pay $100 dollars for it. Especially if it doesn't come with the extra lenses.
I think I found mine at a camera show for around $35.
The problem with Super 8 equipment is how much it varies in price. It takes a lot of effort to look around for the right stuff.
I would look on ebay and keep an eye out for camera shows.
If you have the money and would rather pay a bit more to avoid the long hunt :
    The 518 is very nice.

The 518 is a good camera to start out on, but do not pay 100 bucks, you can find a great camera for that price. Do some researching on the canon cameras, and you'll find some better cameras. For a 100 bucks or less, you can find the 814 autozoom or the 814 electronic, both are nice cameras. The 514xls is also a nice pick. I picked up the 814 autozoom with EVERYTHING (and I mean everything!) for around 60 dollars. The camera works perfectly. Do some research and you will find your answer. Han
